Terms and Conditions of Rental

To confirm the cottage rental, we would require the 50% deposit through e-transfer/cheque/credit card payments: however, cc payments will incur a 3.75% service fee. The standard forms completed and returned.


Deposit


At the time of acceptance by owner, a 50% deposit is due. The outstanding balance, plus the $300.00 refundable security deposit is due 30 days prior to your stay. If the booking is within 30 days of occupancy, the full amount is due.


Damage Deposit


A $300.00 refundable security deposit is required. This will be completely refunded within 14 days of your stay as long as the cottage is in the same condition as when rented. Costs for breakage, damage or cleaning will be taken out of the deposit. Cleaning fees are $50.00 per hour.


Number of guests per cottage


Each cottage has a maximum number of guests. The number of guests must not exceed the maximum as outlined in the listing and/or the number of agreed upon guests at the time of your inquiry as stated on the forms. Short term vacation providers have to adhere to all vacation rental policies as outlined by the town. This includes restrictions on the number of guests and visitors to the property. Information can be found at  https://www.southbrucepeninsula.com/en/index.aspx. The number of guests agreed to at the time of you inquiry must be adhered to throughout the rental period. No additional overnight/day guests are permitted and will result in immediate eviction. If you have family or friends staying in the area please meet them at the beach, cafe, restaurant. Managing the number of guests is important so that everyone enjoys their vacation and there is no strain to the well and septic systems or other systems for you and your guests or for future guests.


Pets


We cannot accept pets due to previous/future guests allergies.


Garbage


Garbage day is Monday. One bag of garbage per cottage is permitted by the town. Garbage and recycling need to be removed on or by the last day of your departure.


Cottage Rules


  • Check in:   4:00pm / Check out:  11:00am
  • Quiet time after 10:30 pm. Abide by all posted rules by Owner as well as Federal, Provincial, and Municipal laws and by-laws. Cottage communities are very interdependent. (Please visit  https://www.southbrucepeninsula.com/en/index.aspx for additional information)
  • No trailer, air mattresses or tents are permitted
  • You are responsible for damages done while you are occupying the cottage (broken furniture, torn window screens, broken glass, dishes, etc. must be repaired and/or replaced)
  • Owners will not be responsible for items left on the premises upon checking out
  • Please make sure all taps and toilets are not dripping or running. This causes the water pump to work constantly and fail, which results in no water supply.
  • No sanitary napkins, disposable diapers, kleenex tissue flushed down the toilets.
  • No grease or food poured down the sinks
  • We are on a well/sand point and excessive water use could cause a total water supply shortage. Please flush toilets conservatively, and practice water conservation when showering, brushing teeth and washing dishes.
  • Campfire pits are provided for Cottage One and Two. An adult must supervise campfires at all times.
  • Please bring bottled water for drinking. We test the water regularly, but most nearby properties are on septic/holding tanks and well/sand points, so water contamination may be possible
  • All cottages are non-smoking
  • No fireworks are permitted on the property
  • No additional cars. Only cars mentioned on the forms are permitted on the property.
  • Please keep cottage clean and tidy. (supplies provided)
  • Yard maintenance may be scheduled during your stay


Check list prior to departure


  • Fridge, stove, and microwave must be cleaned. Dishes, pots, pans, and utensils to be washed and dried and put away
  • All garbage disposed of and removed from property 
  • All surfaces dusted and wiped clean
  • Floors swept and washed
  • Sinks, toilets, tub wiped clean of sand and hair
  • Clean BBQ
  • Any other cleaning as required
  • Please clean outdoor space such as fire pit, etc.


There are no laundry facilities in Sauble Beach. The nearest laundromat would be in Wiarton or South Hampton. (approximately 20 minute drive https://sparkleslaundromat.ca)
